The
name Hooded Villain was given to pro surfer Peter Lawson by his contemporaries
on the ASP world tour. "Those
were wild and free times!" says The Hood, of a nickname that would spawn
a successful surf label. Since those tour days Peter has become a respected surfboard
shaper, having shaped over 10,000 surfboards for the local and international market.
It didn't take long before the boards gave rise to the clothing. And then the
clothing to the accessories. "I started doing t-shirts to promote the boards.
And it just took off from there." said the man behind the shaping mask. From
these humble beginnings, the HV brand of surfboards, clothing and accessories
have emerged. "The
brand embodies everything about surfing and surfers today; it's radical, loose
and free" and this, according to Peter, "is just an extension of my
love for riding the ocean's waves." |
